Today, we had the opportunity to share our values and strategy to a broader audience here at HANNOVER MESSE. Our Chief Technology Officer, Christian Pho Duc, went on the Energy 4.0 conference stage and shared our “Integrated approach to the decarbonisation of the cement and aviation industries: Galileu H2 Valley”.    Key takeaways from his presentation were: --> The cement industry is one of the largest emitting industries in Europe, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 37% until 2030 and achieve Carbon Neutrality in 2050.  --> CO2 emissions may be reduced by adopting cleaner energy vectors, like green hydrogen, replacing natural gas.  --> CO2 capture also plays a decisive role, which, combined with green hydrogen, will be key to produce synthetic fuels, such as eSAF.   #solarPV #Wind #GreenHydrogen #eSAF

This week we were proud and honored to be the Host Sponsor of APREN - Associação Portuguesa de Energias Renováveis's Oceanic Renewables Summit in Lisbon.   Our Managing Director Spain and Wind Europe, Jose M Llopis, presented recommendations regarding the huge potential of offshore wind for power-to-x, especially for the production and export of H2 derivatives for the decarbonization of the maritime sector. He also stressed the need for certainty in the Portuguese regulatory process for sea bed and grid connection rights as well as CFD support. Manuel Costeira da Rocha, PhD, our Director Technology Strategy, also went on stage to discuss the design of a suitable grid for oceanic renewables. Collaboration among stakeholders is essential for realizing the full potential of offshore wind and green H2. Efficient grid design requires a multi-faced approach. Energy mix transitions are very slow. It will take a while until a new paradigm is set up. Offshore energy has an enormous transformative power for the economy, in energy production, but also because it integrates relevant industries into the green economy. We must be realistic but ambitious! Congratulations to our CTO, Christian Pho Duc, who got elected to the board of SolarPower Europe.   SolarPV is were we come from and still serves as the backbone of our growth strategy. It is an important feedstock for our green molecule projects, that aim at decarbonising aviation, maritime and hard to abate industries.   Christian Pho Duc, as new Director in SolarPower Europe’s board, will bring our expertise and support to the European solar sector.
