Jörn Hackbarth

Global Head Engineering & Construction, Sonnedix

Jörn Hackbarth serves as Executive Vice President, Global Head of Engineering & Construction for Sonnedix. His team is responsible for supporting Business Development during the acquisition phase of both existing and new-build plants, overseeing the design and construction of greenfield assets—including identifying partners and negotiating contracts, and optimising completed plants before handing them over to Asset Management. Jörn has spent his career working around the world, from Europe to the Middle East and Asia and from Africa to North America. Jörn holds a MSc in Project Management from the University of Aberdeen in the UK, as well as a University of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Information Technology from Lübeck Technical University in Germany and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in the US. What makes Jörn most proud to work at Sonnedix is the company’s drive to make renewable energy an indispensable element of the global energy mix. Jörn believes that with every project he and his team are a part of, they’re contributing to building a legacy for the next generation.
