Manfred Groh

Manager Hydrogen Projects, BayWa r.e.

Manfred studied physics at the TU Munich and National University of Singapore and did his PhD in particle physics working on an experiment at CERN, Geneva. He started his renewable energy career by working in an engineering company for PV plants. After that he was responsible for building up a virtual power plant and a direct marketing portfolio at Syneco, an energy trading company in Munich. In 2016, Manfred joined the BayWa r.e. group as member of the "Strategy, Energy Policy and Sustainability" team. He initiated the "BayWa r.e. Energy Solutions" unit, which offers tailor-made renewable energy solutions to international C&I customers. The growth and development of our Energy Trading unit to a leading direct marketer in Germany was also supported by him. Since about three years, Manfred is taking care of the hydrogen activities within the BayWa r.e. group, driving forward first hydrogen pilot projects as well as setting up and developing BayWa r.e.’s hydrogen business.
