Chief Executive Officer, Meyer Burger
As CEO of Meyer Burger Technology AG, Gunter Erfurt is managing one of the leading global technology providers in the solar industry and its transformation from an equipment supplier to a manufacturer of high-efficient solar cells and modules. He has been working in the PV industry for many years and, as a PhD in physics, dedicated his work life to bring solar in the position to be the number 1 energy source worldwide. Gunter contributed to a number of technical papers and held several managing functions as well. Since 2020, he is CEO and member of the Executive Board at Meyer Burger Technology Ltd. Gunter has been with the company already since 2015, first as Managing Director and Member of the Board at Meyer Burger (Germany) AG, from 2017 as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and member of the Executive Board of the Company, later as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In the solar cell and module business, Gunter gained experience in his time as Managing Director of the R&D branch of Solarworld AG.
